D2 counsellors and psychotherapists are committed professionals.  They are trained and fully qualified in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.  This is a client centered approach that utilises techniques from a broad range of psychotherapeutic frameworks according to individual client needs. They have also undertaken additional a number of post graduate professional training programmes.

D2 counsellors and psychotherapists are accredited with both the Irish Association for Counsellors and Pspychotherapists (IACP) and the Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) professional bodies.  They work according to the IACP (IACP Code of Ethics)and IAHIP (Code of Ethics IAHIP) ethical codes.  Accreditation with these bodies ensures therapists gain the necessary experience to work to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Our therapists
Caroline Rownan has been practicing guidance counselling and psychotherapy for more than 13 years.  She is also experienced in training, lecturing and the provision of information and support services.  She has worked in both the public and private sectors, most recently as co-ordinator for a cross border peace and reconciliation programme.  During her training Caroline completed a two year clinical placement in the Psychology Department of St Vincent’s Hospital, Fairview.  She is an accredited member of the IACP, IAHIP, ICP, IGC and PRII.  She holds a first class honours MSc in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from DCU, a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Turning Point, a BA in Psychology and Sociology from DCU and a HDip in Adult Guidance and Counselling from NUI Maynooth.  Caroline has also trained in a variety of modalities and holds professional certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy, Training and Development, Life and Business Coaching, and Human Relationship and Communications.  Her other qualifications include a graduate Diploma in Public Relations, a graduate certificate in Business and Innovation from UCD and a Certificate in Training and Development from NUI Maynooth.

Edel Quinn is a qualified and practising counsellor/psychotherapist, who works with clients who are experiencing a general sense of unease in their lives, whether that is depression, anxiety, addiction or coping with the many life events which can unfold in our lifetime. She works integratively, which means that she is influenced by a wide range of clinical theories and skills in her work with clients.
